n the way to becoming a lawyer, Geoff made a left turn in his native Wyoming and landed in New York City at the famed Juilliard School where his love of acting and the theater took root.
He began acting professionally in 1987, building an impressive roster of theater credits. He played Bassanio in the Folger Theater Company’s production of The Merchant of Venice opposite Kelly McGillis and Brian Bedford. In the Colorado and Los Angeles Shakespeare Festivals he garnered critical praise for such performances as Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew and Boyer in Love’s Labor Lost and received the 1988 Philadelphia Drama Critic’s Award for his work in Happy Ending.
Moving to Los Angeles in 1990 (“because Hamlet had his own series”), Geoff landed recurring roles in popular TV shows like The Trials of Rosie O’Neill and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. He has appeared in films like Hook and And The Band Played On but he still loves to tread the boards and recently has to rave reviews in Shakespeare Festival/LA’s The Taming of the Shrew, with a stand-out performance as Petruchio.
Geoff lives in Silverlake with his wife, two young sons and an Akita named Baloo. O home reel&clips gallery reviews resume&contact Geoffrey Lower
